This community is our home, and I am committed to making it a better place for local families.

I previously served as the West Midlands’ first Victims’ Commissioner, where I worked to improve support and rights for victims of crime, particularly those affected by domestic abuse. That experience drives my commitment to protecting the most vulnerable and strengthening community safety.

As Cabinet Member for Housing, I am focused on tackling Birmingham’s housing crisis, including homelessness and the shortage of social housing. I am working to increase the number of safe, secure, genuinely affordable council homes, improve standards in temporary accommodation, and ensure people are not left without the support they need. I support renters’ rights because everyone deserves stability and dignity in where they live.

I am also a committed anti poverty campaigner. I believe every child deserves the best start in life, with opportunity, support, and the chance to fulfil their potential. I want to help build a city where aspiration is encouraged and no one is held back by their circumstances.

I believe in equality, fairness, and bringing people together. Birmingham is at its best when we are united as communities, not divided. I want to help move our city forward, creating opportunity, strengthening neighbourhoods, and ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and supported.

Outside of work, I am a proud mum and an animal lover with three cats.
