Jonathan Michael Graham Ashworth is a British Labour Party politician serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Leicester South since 2011, and has served as Shadow Secretary of State for Health in Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet since 2016. Ashworth was first elected at a by-election in 2011, following the resignation of his predecessor Peter Soulsby, and was re-elected at the 2015, 2017, and 2019 general elections.
