Alison Thewliss is standing for the Scottish Parliament Constituency of Glasgow Central, and tops the SNP Glasgow Regional List.

She was elected as an MP in May 2015 and was re-elected in 2017 and 2019. Alison has served as both Shadow Chancellor and as the SNP Spokesperson for Home Affairs. She stood for the redrawn Glasgow North constituency in the 2024 General Election, but was unsuccessful.

Alison is interested in issues around immigration and economic justice, particularly for women. She has also been a vocal advocate for changes to drug policy in the UK and is well known for her high profile campaign on the scrapping the two-child limit on Universal Credit and Working Tax Credits. She established and Chaired the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Infant Feeding and Inequalities, Chaired the APPG on Immigration Detention and the APPG for Working at Height. Prior to her election as an MP, she served as Glasgow City Councillor. Alison lives in Glasgow with her husband and 2 children.
