Statement to voters
Jemma De Vincenzo (née Vella) grew up in Salford and went to university locally, working at Salford Carers Centre whilst training and for a while after.
Full statement
Following a brief period as a Human Rights volunteer, she started her career as a speech and language therapist. Jemma has campaigned on policy relating to the mental health of young adult carers, mental health in schools, SEND reforms, school exclusions and alternative provisions.
Jemma knows first-hand about the savage cuts our public sector has faced and the need for huge investment into NHS staff and services, our cash-strapped schools and the Special Educational Needs system, so that families don’t have to fight for what they need and the residents of Worsley and Eccles are not left behind.
Years of Tory rule has left us all worse off, from access to GPs and dentists, to the economy, environment and sewage in our rivers and lakes, but Labour has failed to provide the strong opposition voice our country needed.
Jemma is not a career politician, but a homegrown candidate with real world experience and family with homes and businesses across the constituency. Jemma recognises the real impact of the Cost of Living Crisis and how ordinary people are paying the price for terrible decisions made by the political elite. She is standing to be a strong voice in parliament for Worsley and Eccles constituents.
