Seena Shah's policies
Statement to voters
I’m standing to represent Broomfield and The Walthams on Chelmsford City Council because local people deserve a councillor who shows up and gets things done.
Full statement
By 31, I had reached senior leadership level in a publicly listed company, leading teams, shaping strategy, and delivering results in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment. I’ve won industry awards, worked with well-known British brands, and led campaigns on an international stage. I know how to make decisions, take responsibility, and follow through.
Today, I run my own business, so I understand first-hand the challenges facing local companies - the rising costs, red tape, and need for practical
support. But more importantly, I’m a parent raising my young son here in Chelmsford.
This is personal for me. I care deeply about the kind of place we’re building for the next generation.
If elected, I will focus on clear, local priorities:
Backing our high street and small businesses — including pushing for an hour of free parking in the city centre to help bring life back to our high street.
Being visible and easy to reach — with regular surgeries, attending parish council meetings, providing regular reports and a commitment to respond quickly and get things sorted.
Standing up for our villages — working with Mike to continue the work already started to move traffic away from the villages of Great Waltham, Little Waltham and Broomfield, by making the main routes into Chelmsford use the planned new North East Bypass, the RDR and Northern RDR, and making the new Beaulieu Park station the first choice for commuters from the north of Chelmsford. Which is why we need more attractive parking charges at Beaulieu Park station.
Campaigning to reduce parking charges at Beaulieu Park Station and improve taxi availability on its rank - the Lib Dem’s are making this station unusable.
I will also be a strong voice for protecting our green spaces, improving local services, and making sure development works for residents.
I will be visible, accountable, and relentless in standing up for Broomfield and The Walthams—because this community deserves nothing less.
If you have a local issues or concern you think I can help with, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
