I believe Fringford and The Heyfords need a representative who understands how the Council works but isn't afraid to challenge its direction when it stops serving rural residents.

I am not a career politician; I am a former councillor and local resident who refuses to let our villages be overlooked in favour of the larger towns.

As a former Cabinet Portfolio Holder, I know that local government is most effective when it focuses on the basics: clean streets, fair planning, and financial discipline. Here is how I plan to apply that experience to our ward:

Protecting Our Rural Character: I am a firm believer that infrastructure must come before expansion. We’ve seen too many "unnecessary" developments that threaten our green spaces and put a strain on our local roads, water system and schools. I will demand transparent planning processes that give our communities a real seat at the table.
Fixing Waste Management: I am deeply concerned by the potential move toward three-weekly bin collections alongside the current requirement to book appointments at the local tip. This is a recipe for increased fly-tipping in our countryside. I will push for a "common sense" approach to waste—making it easier, not harder, for you to dispose of rubbish responsibly.

Championing Our Farmers: Our rural economy is built on agriculture. I want to refocus the Council on supporting local farmers and sustainable agriculture, ensuring that Cherwell’s policies protect—not penalise—those who maintain our landscape.
Fiscal Responsibility: Every penny of your Council Tax must be justified. My past and focus is on ensuring efficient operations and transparent financial management to save residents money across the district.

I have a proven track record of tackling the "unseen" but vital aspects of governance—rigorous financial management and collaborative decision-making. I am ready to put that experience to work immediately to save you money and protect the unique rural character of Fringford, the Heyfords, and our surrounding villages. I believe in a common-sense Conservative approach that is community-led, fiscally responsible, and fiercely protective of our Oxfordshire heritage.
