Outside of work, John is interested in history, archaeology, cinema, theatre and conservation. He has been involved in practical conservation work since he was 15 and has recently been volunteering on a local tree-planting project. “Given the global challenge of climate change, I am pleased that Wiltshire Council has committed to making the county net zero carbon by 2030, but these aspirations need to be backed up with a clear plan. Wiltshire Labour has the practical policies in our manifesto to make this happen, including investment in renewable energy generation, establishing a network of electric vehicle charging points, developing public transport alternatives and requiring all new homes to be net zero carbon. These policies not only make sense, but will help regenerate Wiltshire’s economy post-COVID.”
