Laura is Welsh Labour’s candidate for Grofield ward in this year’s Monmouthshire County Council elections.

She lives on Merthyr Road and as a Grofield resident she understands the issues that matter most to people here. Her priorities include sustainable living, looking after our environment, road safety and supporting the wide range of fantastic local businesses in Abergavenny town centre. Laura also believes that we need more high-quality, truly affordable housing in Monmouthshire.

Laura is a passionate advocate for better mental health services - and believes that we could be doing so much more on this issue. She is also deeply concerned about the Tory-made cost of living crisis and the devastating impact that the hike in national insurance, spiralling enegy costs and declining standards of living will have on so many people.

In her spare time Laura enjoys wildlife-friendly gardening and looking after her rescue dog.
