I believe this is a pivotal point for our country and our communities.

Whomever the party of government in Westminster, the story has been the same; wealthy donors and big businesses thrive while the rest of us see extensive cuts, our services crippled and the cost of living rising. All the while climate change is no longer a distant threat, but a reality impacting our lives. Yet the major parties continue to fold on their green pledges and push back on climate targets.

We need bold solutions, not empty promises. We need leaders who understand the science and are committed to taking decisive action. We need a just transition to a net-zero future that leaves no one behind.

The Scottish Greens have the solutions, raising taxes on the super-rich, investing in a green transition to a sustainable future.

The people of East Kilbride and Strathaven, have a proud history of innovation and community spirit, let's become a beacon of environmental responsibility too. A place where future generations can look forward to sustainable jobs, sustainable homes and a place where people and nature thrive together.
