Statement to voters

Jamie was elected as an MP in 2017.

Full statement

Prior to his election, Jamie served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) and a local councillor in the Highlands. In these roles, Jamie helped secure more money for home improvement grants and played a key role in preventing the downgrading of services at Caithness General Hospital.

Outside of politics, Jamie has had a vast range of other jobs. From running his family’s cheese business and teaching English in Sicily to gutting fish in the Faroes and building oil rigs: his experience is diverse to say the least.

Jamie enjoys spending time with his family, getting about the Highlands and playing Panto Dame at the local pantomime (yes, really).
