Full statement
Passionate about finding ways to help with the kind of issues that councillors helped his family with, he wants to be able to give something back to the community.
There is much to celebrate about Chertsey. The beautiful Meads, excellent pubs and other strong, local businesses. However, we know there's room for improvement, to make Chertsey greater. Every day we hear stories of friends and neighbours who are struggling to make ends meet. The Conservative Government has abandoned communities like ours and have overseen a growing crisis with our NHS, and are failing to help people facing the worst cost of living crisis in a lifetime. We believe you deserve a better deal. Our priorities for Chertsey include: £125k of extra, targeted cost of living support A £1.75m community green bond so as we can tackle the climate crisis without needing to wait for the Tory government to shape up Restoring a targeted yellow school bus service, cut by the Tories last year. A Chertsey town centre regeneration plan that empowers local businesses and residents. 250 new passively heated council homes for Runnymede that meets local residents' needs.
