Statement to voters

Hi I’m Christine and I am proud to be standing as the Wolds Ward candidate in the upcoming May local elections.

Full statement

I wish to be a member of a strong, experienced team that has the ability to deliver for you.

Here are just some of my key pledges to residents which I feel are so important in protecting the rural character and delivering on what our area stands for - our strong sense of community spirit and pride.

Protecting our rural villages

I will stand with residents in opposing inappropriate large-scale development that threatens our countryside, landscapes and village identities.
If elected, I will stand up and will champion residents strong opposition and concerns in the council chamber when it comes to planning matters such as the Freshney Valley/ Grimsby West housing development proposals.

Continue the positive re-generation

In recent years under the Conservative administration we have overseen some of the largest re-generation projects our area has ever seen. Our local towns of Grimsby and Cleethorpes have seen constructions being erected with the majority of projects due to be completed by the end of 2027. Let's continue the positive.

Supporting our environment

I will push for action in flooding areas such as around the Great Coates Road area, support nature restoration around our borough via various new scheme proposals and protect our lovely green spaces. Wolds ward is the home of a rare chalk stream, ancient community churches, and rolling green hills. By working with local partners and organisations like Natural England, I will ensure these are protected for future generations to enjoy.

Working for you

I believe in being visible, accessible and accountable. All councillors should uphold these principles in public life and I promise to always be there for you.
I will hold regular surgeries, publish ward updates with regular newsletters, work closely with our fantastic Parish Councils, and respond promptly to residents' concerns.

We must protect our rural villages, natural heritage, the next generation of young people and demand common sense solutions that work for all.
