I will be standing as your Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate in the local elections on 5th May 2022.

I have lived in Old Colwyn for 26 years having moved to North Wales with my job. During that time I have enjoyed a successful career as a police officer and raised three children. My wife and I chose to make our home in Old Colwyn simply because it is a nice place to live. I am recently retired and feel that the time has come to give something back to the community to which my family and I belong.

Colwyn Ward has been successfully represented by a Liberal Democrat councillor for the last 34 years and I believe that it is important for our community to continue to be represented by someone with Liberal Democrat values.

The area needs a councillor from a party that does not take its voters for granted. The Liberal Democrats have a strong record of working hard for the communities they represent. Colwyn Ward is no exception. If elected I would continue that tradition. I know that as a community we face many challenges due to the impact of Covid and the 'Cost of living crisis'. Council tax has increased. If elected I would actively support measures that focus on providing the essential community services that we need the most.

Repeated UK government cuts to policing have had a negative impact on reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. As a councillor I would work hard to see that these problems are addressed so that our streets are kept safe. I will listen to residents'concerns and act on them to play my part in making sure that Colwyn Ward and Old Colwyn continue to be the thriving friendly communities that attracted us many years ago.

As a councillor my duty will be to listen to you, to hear and understand your views on the future of our community and to act on those concerns. If you agree with me and my vision for Colwyn please give me your vote in the local elections on 5th May.

Byddaf yn sefyll fel ymgeisydd Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol Cymru yn yr etholiad lleol ar 5ed o Fai 2022.

Dw'i wedi byw ym Hen Golwyn ers 26 mlwyddyn, symudais i i Ogledd Cymru efo'r swydd fi. Dw'i wedi mwynhau gyrfa llwyddiannus efo Heddlu Gogledd Cymru a rwyf wedi magu tri o blant. Fy' nheulu a fi wnaeth dewis i fyw yn Hen Golwyn achos mae'n lle hyfryd i fyw. Rwyf wedi ymddeol yn ddiweddar ac rwyf wedi penderfynu ei bod yn bryd rhoi rhywbeth yn ôl i'r cymuned.

Mae Colwyn wedi cael ei chynrychioli’n llwyddiannus gan gynghorydd o’r Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol Brian Cossey ers 34 mlynedd. Rwy'n credu ei bod yn bwysig i’r gymuned barhau i gael ei chynrychioli gan rhywun sydd a gwerthoedd y Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol.

Mae’r ardal angen cynghorydd o blaid sydd ddim yn cymryd ei phleidleiswyr yn ganiatol. Mae gan y Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol hanes cryf o weithio yn galed dros y gymuned. Pe bawn i'n cael fy etho byddwn yn parhau a’r traddodiad hwnnw.

Rwy'n gwybod ein bod ni fel cymuned yn wynebu sawl her oherwydd Covid a'r 'Cost of Living crisis'. Mae’r dreth gyngor wedi cynnyddu, pe bawn yn cael fy ethol byddwn yn cefnogi mesurau sy’n canolbwyntio ar ddarparu gwasanaethau cymunedol hanfodol sydd eu hangen fwyaf arnom.

Mae toriadau i blismona wedi cael effaith negyddol ar leihau trosedd ac ymddygiad gwrthgymdeithasol. Fel cynghorydd byddwn yn gweithio’n galed i weld bod y problemau hyn yn cael sylw. Cadw ein strydoedd yn ddiogel.Byddaf i’n gwrando ar bryderon trigolion ac yn gweithredu. Byddaf yn chwarae fy rhan i wneud yn siŵr bod Colwyn yn parhau i fod yn gymuned gyffeillgar ffyniannus.

Fel cynghorydd bydd fy’n dyletswydd i chi i gwrando i chi ac deall eich farnwrth y dyfodol ein cymuned ac i weithredu.
