Statement to voters

My name is Andrew Crichton, and I am proud to be standing as your Labour candidate in Hardwick on 5th May 2022.

Full statement

I live in Banbury with my partner, and work for a charity as a Welfare Rights Adviser. In my role I advise people affected by cancer about the financial help that is available.

For too long the residents of our Ward have been let down by local Councillors. Potholes go unfilled, streetlights are not replaced and paths in local parks are left unmanaged.

I intend to change this. As your Councillor I will regularly walk around the area to spot issues. I will also speak to residents on social media for your feedback.

I will back Labour’s plan to invest in more affordable houses in the Banbury area. These days buying a first home is a distant dream for many people, but it shouldn’t have to be. There is more Cherwell Council can do to increase the number of affordable new homes.

You have the power to change things in Banbury, but only if you go out and vote for it. Help me make a difference and vote Labour on 5th May.

My pledges for Hardwick are:

· Back more affordable homes on new build sites in Banbury.

· Regular walkabouts of the ward to identify issues that need fixing.

· Engage with residents on social media and listen to your concerns.

· Improve air quality by replacing Cherwell District Council’s vehicles and taxis with electric vehicles.

· Work with Thames Valley Police to tackle vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
