Statement to voters
Hi I moved to Rempstone in March 2022.
Full statement
Prior to that I was a County Councillor in Derbyshire and I remain a Parish Councillor over there until the expiry of my term in May. During my political career I have been Chair of two parish councils and a Cabinet Member at County Council level. I have chaired too many local committees to mention and been Chair of Governors at four local schools. I have served as Chair of a local CIC (of which I was a founding member) where our local Parish Council built a multi million pounds community facility.
I'm not telling you this to "show off".
I'm demonstrating that my heart is in community service and my background proves it. I have the experience to know how things work and the knowledge to get things done.
But, you might ask, what do you know about Bunny? Fair question.
Since I moved here I've integrated pretty quickly. It helps that I'm quite sociable and very happy to spend an hour here and there chatting to people and helping in any way I can
For example. I've helped a young neighbour to improve her driving in order to pass her test and move into her desired profession
I'm now the resident Quizmaster at The Rancliffe Arms in Bunny. Come along and meet me every 3rd Thursday or so
I help with social events at The White Lion in Rempstone.
I intend to be available to my constituents via phone, text, social media or by calling round for a chat.
My political convictions are simple.
WE ARE AT OUR BEST WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER.
WE LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER.
THE WEAK ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE STRONG
STONG PUBLIC SERVICES ARE VITAL ESPECIALLY IN RURAL AREAS LIKE OURS
Margaret Thatcher once said, when describing Tory attitudes and policy "There's no such thing as community" I say "that's drivel" and it's why our society is now breaking apart.
It should be
WE WE WE.... and not always ME..ME..ME
The Tory party is ripping our country to pieces
Lying Prime Ministers, corrupt PPE contracts, MP's nipping off to the jungle
Remember...local tories are just the same. Just nearer.
Its time to show them the door.
To end on a bit of playground humour
May the Fourth be with you But may your vote be with me.
