Member of Parliament

Members of Parliament (MPs) represent your interests and concerns in the House of Commons.

MPs consider and can propose new laws as well as raising issues that matter to you in the House. This includes asking government ministers questions about current issues including those which affect local constituents.

MPs split their time between working in Parliament itself, working in the constituency that elected them and working for their political party.

Mayor of London Borough of Croydon

Mayor of Croydon

The directly elected Mayor provides leadership and direction to the borough and the Council and has overall responsibility for council policy and the delivery of services.

The elected Mayor has a mandate to represent the whole borough and will speak on its behalf locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. It will be for them to decide how this role will work in practice, within the boundaries set out in the Council’s Constitution.
